May 2013 Map of the Month: Speed-based Use Cases and Populated Areas

BBMap_PopulatedAreasSmall_case1The Utah Broadband Project’s May 2013 map of the month  displays Utah’s populated areas with broadband coverage areas for 3 different levels of service.

The data sources are residential and mobile broadband service areas (blue), at different speed classes, as reported by broadband providers for Winter 2013, and “Utah Populated Areas” (red) that the Project’s mapping team created by trimming the populated 2010 census blocks to fit actual residential areas visible on 2011 area photography.
